I'm Chris McAnear, founder and service manager of Patriot Plumbing. My wife, Lauren, and I started this company together — she runs the office, I run the field — with one idea driving all of it: take something as everyday as service plumbing and make it better. Put the serve back into service.
I didn't come up through plumbing. I spent more than ten years in the oilfield, and that's where my hands-on, figure-it-out mindset really took root. What pulled me into the trade was two things — wanting to be home with my family, and my father-in-law, Tom, who encouraged me to make the jump. I started my plumbing career at his company, learned from Tom and from good people at Aerohead and every shop I worked after that, and honestly I'm still learning something new on the job every day. The moment you stop learning in this trade is the moment you start cutting corners.
What frustrates me most about my own industry is watching a problem get misdiagnosed — usually from a lack of experience, knowledge, or plain dedication. A wrong diagnosis costs you money and doesn't actually fix anything. So at Patriot we go above and beyond to get it right the first time. I'm a licensed Texas Master Plumber (RMP 13956) and we're BBB accredited — but the thing I care about most is earning the trust of the family who let us into their home.
If I could tell every San Antonio homeowner one thing, it'd be this: the biggest mistake you can make is trying to force a plumbing fix yourself, or handing it to a handyman — it usually turns a small problem into an expensive one. Call someone who does this for a living. And one job I'll always be proud of: we partnered with our suppliers to restore sewer service to a family's home completely free of charge. That's the kind of company I set out to build — and the kind we work to be on every call.
